We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health! **Organization:** SDMC-Sutter Delta Medical Center **Position Overview:** The Unit Secretary functions as an integral member of the patient care team under the direction of the Charge Nurse and the supervision of the Charge Nurse and Manager. S/he provides secretarial and clerical support to ensure continuity of care for all patients cared for on the unit. The staff member in this position must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and customer service skills at all time. **Job Description** : **EDUCATION** + _Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma._ + HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience + Associate's: Business College or AA degree preferred **PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:** + Minimum (recent) 6 months pertinent experience in an acute-care hospital setting. **SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE** + Medical terminology + Thorough understanding of surgical and procedural terminology Windows-based computer applications + Keyboard skills - typing @ 35 wpm + Computerized scheduling system + Microsoft Office (Excel,Word, Outlook) + Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette + Ability to spell accurately + Ability to work cooperatively with others and adjust to changing work situations. + Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing, in English. + Strong ability to handle detail-oriented work, organize, prioritize and make decisions within defined boundaries and using appropriate resources as needed. **Job Shift:** Days **Schedule:** Part Time **Shift Hours:** 8 **Days of the Week:** Variable **Weekend Requirements:** Every other Weekend **Benefits:** Yes **Unions:** Yes **Position Status:** Non-Exempt **Weekly Hours:** 32 **Employee Status:** Regular Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.
