Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Quality will lead and enhance our quality programs across all product lines. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance strategies, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, strong leadership skills, and a passion for building a culture of excellence.

VP of Manufacturing

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and Lead Quality Strategy : Establish and implement a comprehensive quality assurance program that aligns with company goals and industry standards.
  • Quality Control & Compliance : Ensure all doors, panels, and laminated products meet or exceed recognized quality and performance certifications.
  • Process Improvement : Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and defect prevention using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Supplier & Customer Quality Management : Collaborate with suppliers to maintain material quality and address non-conformance issues; engage with customers to address quality concerns and ensure satisfaction.
  • Leadership & Training : Build and mentor a high-performing quality team, providing training and development to enhance expertise in quality systems, problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
  • Audits & Regulatory Compliance : Lead internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to ISO, ASTM, and other industry standards; maintain all necessary documentation and certifications.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making : Utilize quality metrics, data analysis, and statistical process control (SPC) to drive improvements and ensure consistent product quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Customer Service teams to develop quality-focused solutions and address production challenges.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quality assurance leadership within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred), PPAP, and FMEA methodologies.
  • Experience with auditing, supplier quality management, and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Proven track record of implementing quality systems that drive measurable improvements in product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and data analysis tools

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
